Where do Muse cells come from?

They occur naturally in the body and were first identified in human tissue by Professor Mari Dezawa at Tohoku University in 2010. Characterizing and preparing them is a laboratory process, which is where the distinction between a traceable preparation and an unverified one begins.

Aren’t Muse cells already present in any regenerative preparation?

Muse cells occur naturally, so small numbers appear in many tissue preparations. Presence is not the same as dose. The published research uses characterized, concentrated preparations, and its findings describe those. A preparation that merely contains some Muse cells has no claim on that research, which is exactly why sourcing and characterization matter.

Patients ask about Muse stem cell clinics abroad. What should they know?

Regulation differs by country, so treatments marketed overseas may not have been through the review a US patient would assume. Before travelling, ask what is actually being administered, how those cells were characterized and by whom, what is published about that specific preparation, and who manages follow-up once you are home.
